What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise the same browser on later visits. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes browsers so visits can be counted | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps session state for the GA4 property | Up to 2 years |
We don't set advertising, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It's a preference that stays on your device and isn't a tracking cookie.
How to control cookies
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for one site or for all sites.
- Analytics opt-out: Google's browser add-on stops Google Analytics on every site you visit.
- Private browsing: cookies are discarded when you close the window.
Blocking cookies doesn't break anything here. Every page, search and quiz works without them. For the full picture of what data we handle, see the privacy policy.
